All of the interesting modulation is still going on, as it always has been, in DnB, which is predominantly Cubase. Tunes like that are dying a death by now. I must say, to my ears at least, the modulation in a lot of DnB like Noisia and BSE is far more interesting than that of producers like Skrillex, KTN, etc.Macros are great in Ableton, but people seem to just make talking formant-esque basses with them and nothing else.
